Please note: the above warranties commence from the date of original purchase and apply only to owner-occupied single-family homes. All multi-residential and/or commercial applications have a 2 year limited warranty on all items from the date of original purchase. All Entry Door warranties are not transferable.

Alberta Door Systems warrants all vinyl frames and components against such defects in material and workmanship that might result in blistering, peeling, flaking, corroding, de-lamination or fading within generally accepted industry standards for the time period stated. The colour warranty pertains to manufacturing defects and has no bearing to UV exposure that occurs naturally on an exterior surface. The lamination warranty pertains to the exterior surface only and to manufacturing defects and has no bearing to UV exposure that occurs naturally on an exterior surface.

Alberta Door Systems warrants that all factory-applied paint finishes to vinyl frames, fiberglass or steel door panels and all factory-applied stain finishes to stainable laminates frames (Lifetime Entry Door System), fiberglass door panels will be free of any “finish defect” for the time period stated. A finish defect includes cracking, peeling, blistering, flaking, chalking, blotchiness, surface contaminant and smudges that occur during the factory finish process. Fading/change in colour shall not exceed the accepted industry standards. A finish defect does not include fading due to UV or sun light exposure, variation in stain absorption due to grain, colour and texture differences.

If Alberta Door Systems is given notice of such finish defect within the time frame listed above, Alberta Door Systems shall, at its sole option:

1) Refinish the product (the finish may not necessarily be the same finish as originally applied to the product),

2) Furnish labour to replace or repair any defective finish workmanship within the first year (1) (and provide replacement materials if Alberta Door Systems determines such materials are necessary to make the repairs) or

3) Refund the original purchase price of the defective item in question. This Finish Warranty is provided to the original Buyer and may not be assigned or transferred, although the limitations of liability set forth herein apply to all sales and persons.

STEEL DOOR COLLECTION

Alberta Door Systems warrants all  steel door panels against such defects in material and workmanship for the time period stated. This warranty is in effect provided that the door has been properly sealed on all 6 surfaces within 7 days of delivery and has been hung with a standard lock and hinge preparation. Warping (up to ¼ inch), minor scratches or other visual imperfections shall not be considered defects. This warranty only covers the door panel and does not apply to any factory finished components that may be sold in combination with the door. Alberta Door Systems grants these warranties only to the original purchaser of the building where the door was installed.

FIBREGLASS DOOR COLLECTION

Alberta Door Systems warrants all  fibreglass door panels against such defects in material and workmanship for the time period stated. This warranty is in effect provided that the door has been properly sealed on all 6 surfaces within 7 days of delivery and has been hung with a standard lock and hinge preparation. Warping (up to ¼ inch), minor scratches or other visual imperfections shall not be considered defects. The warping warranty only applies to door panels up to 7ft in height with factory installed multipoint locks. Any door panels over 7ft in height or do not include factory installed multipoint locks are exempt from any warping warranty. This warranty only covers the door panel and does not apply to any factory finished components that may be sold in combination with the door. Alberta Door Systems grants these warranties only to the original purchaser of the building where the door was installed.

Alberta Door Systems warrants that all hardware and mechanical components of its entry doors shall be free from manufacturing defects for the time period listed above. When multipoint hardware is required, it must be factory installed at the time of purchase and all locking positions must be active at all times in order for this warranty to be in effect for any period.

Alberta Door Systems warrants that the non-decorative glass, decorative glass, insulating glass (with blinds or shades sealed inside) shall be free from premature failure or permanent material obstruction of vision due to a failure of the glass seal for the time period stated. The between-the-glass blind or shade and the decorative metal and wrought iron accents shall also be free from manufacturing defects in material or workmanship that significantly impair their proper operation and function for the time period stated.

If Alberta Door Systems is given notice of a defect occurring within the time-frame listed above, Alberta Door Systems shall, at its sole discretion: 1) repair or replace the defective item (with cost of labor included only within one [1] year of the date of purchase) or 2) refund the original purchase price

Please note that the following are not defects and are not covered by this warranty:

1. Slight variations in the colour or texture of the finish,

2. Moderate colour fading resulting from exposure to normal atmospheric conditions (sun, rain, etc.),

3. Damage caused by a third party or something other than a defect in the manufacture or material used by Alberta Door Systems. (i.e. abuse, improper use, vandalism, impact by a foreign object, act of God or nature, fire or other casualty, damage caused by improper handling, storage or installation by freight carriers, distributors, installers or other parties).

EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY

Damages from the following are excluded from coverage under this warranty.

1. Product failure, loss or damage due to:

 Products that have not been paid for in full.

 If a dealer knowingly installs and/or reports a product with visible defect(s) after goods have been picked up or delivered and signed off, with such defects, but not limited to scratches, dents, cracks and/or damaged components without notifying Alberta Door Systems prior to installation.

 Products subjected to conditions or use outside their design limitations

 Abuse of hardware such as over tightening of mechanism which may cause the roto gear to strip

 Normal wears from product usage or age, including normal wear and tear of weather-stripping

 Normal wear, fading or discolouration of finish from product usage, age or exposure to direct sunlight.

 Corner welds on coloured windows may fade over time. Colour touch-up is the responsibility of the home owner.

 Improper storage, handling, installation, finishing, use, modification, accident, misuse, abuse, alterations, improper handling, operation or cleaning

 Structural settlement, movement or vibration

 Improperly installed security systems

 Products with modifications that are not approved by Alberta Door Systems

 Finishing or modifying the structure containing repaired or replaced product.

 The purchase, damage, repair or replacement of non-Alberta Door Systems products

 Accidents, including accidental glass breakage, not the fault of Alberta Door Systems, which results in seal failure

 Damage and/or discolouration, not the fault of Alberta Door Systems, to blinds or shades sealed between glass associated with wear and tear through product use, sun exposure, abuse or age

 Damage to glass as a result of installation at elevations above 4,000 feet.

 Damage caused by high in-home humidity (condensation, frost and mould).

 Damage caused by inappropriate finishes, solvents, brick-wash, or cleaning chemicals.

 Mechanical abrasion to finishes.

 Non-factory-applied finishes, applied sealants or caulking. Finishes applied by your local dealer/contractor are not covered by this warranty.

 All warranties are void if a storm door is installed over the painted/stained door due to excessive heat

 Products or finishes exposed to excessive localized heat, high-moisture environments (including pools, hot tubs and greenhouses) or water leakage.

 Products (panel, moldings, light rims and frame) not properly finished within 30 days of installation.

 Acts of God or nature

 Acid rain or other corrosive elements.

 Salt spray, including exposure to coastal weather conditions.

2. Minor imperfections in the product.

 Minor imperfections in glass that do not affect the product’s structural integrity or significantly obscure vision (including textures, swirls and air bubbles in decorative glass). The imperfection must be visible from a distance of no less than six (6’) feet from the surface, as per industry standards.

 Minor variations in glass colour.

 Minor imperfections in the panel and/or frame graining or colour.

3. Installation inconsistent with Recognized industry standards.

 Damage resulting in whole or in part from installation inconsistent with Alberta Door Systems’s recognized industry Installation procedures.

 Altered or reinstalled products.

 Products used in non-vertical glazing applications.

NFRC Standards.

Alberta Door Systems products labeled with the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Energy Performance label are tested in accordance with NFRC standards. NFRC ratings are based on a combination of computer simulations and physical testing of product samples. For details on NFRC energy performance ratings, go to www.NFRC.org.

This Limited Warranty is not a statement of the useful life of any Alberta Door Systems products.

Entire Agreement.

With the exception of a written statement signed by an authorized Alberta Door Systems representative, this Limited Warranty and all the terms contained herein constitutes the entire agreement between Alberta Door Systems/Seller and Buyer/User. This Limited Warranty, including all Limitations of Liability contained herein, is made a part of any such written agreement, unless expressly excluded therein. By purchasing or using the product covered by this Limited Warranty, Buyer and User agree that they are not relying on any oral statements made by anyone that are in any way contrary to this Limited Warranty.

No Amendment Except in Writing.

Alberta Door Systems and Seller offer this product, and Buyer and User accept it, subject to the foregoing Limited Warranty, which may be modified only by written agreement signed by a duly authorized representative of Alberta Door Systems.
